black screen states no recent applications

For some reason my screen is now black on my droid x and it says no recent applications..please tell me how to get my apps back and get my phone back to normal..I've taken the battery out and turned it off twice..I am getting the same message

This would happen if you long press the Home button after a new boot. The fact this is coming up right after boot up, suggests you have a stuck Home button.

What happens if you press the Back button or Home button?
