Personal opinion, I have never seen an industry so widely accepted (worshipped even) which has been so mediocre for so long. Cell Phones and the "Can you hear me now" level of performance for what one pays (some of us Thousands of dollars every year) take a 10 year period, $200 per/month bill plus a couple of "upgrades" $25,500.00 spent for air, dropped calls, finicky hardware and software discussions like this one alluding to "surprises" like some mystery bunny is going to show up and sprinkle fairy dust on my phone IF I'm one of the lucky chosen... and people wonder why or how people drink cool aid and walk off a cliff.
News Flash: Cell phones are PHONES NOT a source of identity. The "Service" is paid for, a level of service is expected for that payment. It isn't a Favor to have information, or problems fixed or updates SO please don't expect a Thank You for a baseline of proper business conduct. I don't treat my clients like that and for good reason. They PAY me for a service.
This Opinion is not directed at the OP nor anyone in particular BUT I have run into enough cell phone folks over the years that act like the weatherman does sometimes like He makes the sun shine on the weekends and wants everybody to gesticulate over the effort.
So, the thing in my pocket (my cell phone) has not been named by me, it rings and I answer it. Sometimes I even want to talk to whoever is calling. The bill comes and I pay it. That's about it. For that, I expect it to work when I need it to and possibly even get better reception than my bag phone did 25 years ago But for the most part despite all the claims of improvement I find myself still saying, "Can you hear me now" quite a bit.
