I noticed that when i send a picture, it sends it as a link. Is there a way that i can send pics just as a picure and not a link? Because people see it and dont realize its a picture they think its a random link.

When I want to send a pic I open the gallery(or QuickPic), select the picture, hit menu, select share, select text messaging. If the pic is large, you'll be asked to resize.Text message box opens, select contact, and include text message if you want. Notice the little square icon with the mountain, showing that the pic is attached. Hit send.

This Droid is getting to be a pain in the ass to attach a photo without having to jump through hoops. With my old Voyager just pressed a button and off it goes. Since the automatic "Upgrade???" to Gingerbread was done it's never been the same. It's an expensive piece of crap!

Can you share a little more detail:

1. Does the recipient have service with Verizon?
2. Which phone is the recipient using?
3. Was the photo shared from your Gallery or in another location when you went to share it?

I have experienced what you are explaining when trying to send pictures to another service (AT&T) and from when not using pictures from the Gallery but rather from another location. There may be some tie-in to these items and am trying to narrow this down based on your answers to the above three questions.

Sending pictures from the gallery. Keeps telling me I need an account with Facebook or some other entity that I have no interest in joining. I have a Dorid 2. All I want to do is occasionaly send a picture. Have no idea what phone the recipient has and it shouldn't matter. If the software is designed so that I need a 3rd party to send a picture, both Motorola and Veirzon are going to get the phone back in two pieces.

You're in the droid 2 global forum posting about a droid 2, but your signature says droid 2 global. So I'm a bit confused. As for the problem, I suggest downloading a texting app. You didn't mention if you are using stock messenger app or something else. I recommend go sms or handcent. Both are free, very straight forward, and easy to use messaging apps.

Try that, and if it doesn't work still, please let us know.

Since you mean sending a picture over MMS (multimedia messaging service), I'm not sure what exactly did you try to do. I had no issues sending MMS messages, and I don't have a Facebook account.

Make sure you choose the Text Messaging option in the Share menu. (Alas, I'm not well versed in the USA cellular networks' interconnection schemes; I'm a GSM user and on GSM MMS messages travel between carriers without any problems whatsoever.)

GY - you are spot-on correct, select the Text Messaging option in the Share menu (the arrows diverging when tapping the picture), works the same for GSM and CDMA. Most pictures will have to re-size as a part of this since MMS does not send 2 meg image files but the re-size is automatic.
