Better battery

I just got the droid x and I'm already running through that battery before the day is over. I'd like a little bit more time on my phone if you know what I mean. What is the best battery that I can use with the original door because I am using a otterbox defender and I would like to continue using it. And do they sell these batteries in stores or do I have to get them online?

The high capacity standard battery from seidio or the Motorola extended battery that uses a bigger door. My advice just tweak the phone out a lil bit and after 1-2 weeks of usage you should see more battery life as your still in the testing out phase

Good advice! I was rooted for 6 months before I got the Moto extended battery. I've been pretty impressed!

Lower the display brightness and timeout settings. This kills batteries fast.
