Beautiful Widgets Surprise??

The Big Surprise is not in this one, that will be 3.0.
BUT, there are a a bunch of new features added. You can now make any skin "Naked"
... and/or you can set transparancy level for the background of any skin.
Also the current day forecast is added to the 3 day forecast (now shows 4 days in forecast screen).
Plus a few other tweaks.

Check the changelog for the previous version.. the very latest was a hotfix (2.98.1 came out minutes after the main update), the one before that(2.98) has the new features I mentioned above and clearly states those aren't the "surprise".
2.98 - 20th April 2010
- Added the forecast for the current day
- Added an option to hide the background (naked skins)
- Added an option to change the background opacity
- Fixed a force close when updating the weather in some conditions
- You can now clear the selected apps to get back to the default app when tapping weather, date and time
- Fixed a bug where the geodecoding cannot get the postal code and was crashing the weather
- Fixed weather for Singapore
- Forecast layout fixed for the QVGA devices
- Surprise still under development!

I do like the new transparency feature; much more to play with and customizations. and its nice to see he added an extra day in the forecast.
+1 Must admit that I've been a skeptic about BW. Nice app and all that but I didn't like being limited to the "naked" skins since I like to see my wallpaper. The transparency feature is a great improvement as far as I'm concerned.
Have to say also that my rain animation is much more exciting this morning. Not sure if the update is responsible but I have all sorts of (simulated) water pouring down my screen that I don't recall in the past. And here in Seattle we're like the Inuits who have 47 words for snow; we have a similar number of variations for rain.
The transparency is nice! And of course, I'm rarely against adding some nakedness to anything, so that is a nice addition also! Now if only I could change the weather/date text to a different color, even if just black/white were options. I can't see naked skins on my current background (which I don't want to change yet)

Setting it up sort of like Koxx's Pure widgets (one of a handful of color options) would be fantastic. So many skins I'd love to use but can't without losing the text in the background.
Update again. I contacted him on twitter and he fixed this problem.

Yep 2.98 had the typo.. 2.98.1 released quickly afterwards was the Hotfix for the typo.
Still anxiously waiting for 3.0!!!!!!!
Tama is so sneaky. I can't believe he won't hint at the surprise, but keeps popping out sweet updates anyway...
