Battery saving tips/Juice Defender?

Trying to figure out some ways to improve battery life on my brand new Incredible 2 (which I adore, by the way). I'm brand new to SmartPhones, so I am completely at a loss for knowing what to do in this situation. Hence why I turn to you guys for help. :)

I turned down the screen brightness settings -- what else can I do? Is there a way to stop email push from my gmail? And would that help save my battery? It's not accurate half the time anyway. (Anyone else have that problem?)

Also, what about JuiceDefender? Would that be a good app to use, or what it really just defeat the purpose as it will just be another app? I've got the free version - would it be worth it to upgrade to plus or premium?

I know this is a great deal of questions, and I truly apologize for my ignorance, but please know that I really appreciate all of your assistance in advance! Thanks!

This is also my first smartphone and I have bluetooth turned off, screen brightness turned town, email, fb, etc. set to manual update, and no app killer or anything like that.

I can get a whole day out of mine depending on what I do. I use my phone to listen to music all the time since my car radio doesn't work and it barely seems to use any battery at all. If I am playing angry birds or something just about non stop then my battery will last around 4 hours. But just doing phone calls, texts, light internet usage and playing music I can get a whole day then before I go to bed I will run the battery down to charge at night.

Have been thinking about getting the extended battery too even though the battery life is fine for me.

Press the menu button while at home screen then go to settings then accounts and sync. Uncheck auto-sync and background data
