I use my phone throughout the day, but use it extensively at night. However, I have noticed the battery getting extremely hot. Is anyone else feeling this or is it directly related to usage?

I know if 4G is constantly running it can raise the battery heat. That's why I leave Auto sync off. Also, are you rooted? Cause overclocking can have a similar effect.

Download Droid Heat Shield. As per HTC, 50 degrees Celsius or below is within normal operating temperature. I've checked many times when I thought my battery was "cooking" and it has never reached 50 degrees yet.

well my girl friends phone is getting so hot that the phone will cut off and stay that way for around 5 mins then the phone will let her turn it back on and i talked to tech support and they sent me a new battery and put it in......sure enough it did the same thing and she doesnt have any crazy apps or anything like that and no widgets other than the weather...so wonder what is causing that issue?
