battery charging/notification led

I'm going to assume its a Moto framework lockdown issue. But figured I'd ask.

Is there a way for a developer to have it show a charging LED? I know it does at under 5 or 10% but other than that it doesn't.. same thing with screen on notification led... sometimes phones on silent and I'm in a program or app that hides the notification bar.. it would be nice to know I have a message..

Me too. I was told the notification light doesn't work with the screen on to save battery. This big 4.3" screen and they worry about this led? Lol
