things like facebook and weather widgets need this to stay up to date. if u wanna save battery and still keep them updated, lengthen the refresh rate for the apps.

i just bnoticedalso t he market wont work without it. im going to keepp it off and when i use something that needs it it asks me if iwant to enable it o ill just enable it when i need it.
