Automatic updates turned off, but a few keep doing it anyway

My phone doesn't have a ton of room, so I have automatic updates of apps turned off. But ones that came with the phone (e.g. Instagram and Facebook) will do it anyway. Ones I actually installed myself never do. Was just wondering if there's any way to actually get it to not automatically update anything.

Try this: Open the Play Store > My Apps > Tap the Installed tab > find the applicable app and tap to open > Three dot menu > see if Auto Update is turned On for those individual apps. If so, turn it Off.

Not necessarily. I have apps that I haven't updated in years and they work fine. You have to find which ones work best for you, with updates and which ones you like the way they are. Not all app updates are good.
