Are these Android or HTC bugs?

I very much like my Incredible, however, there are some very annoying things:

1. Sometimes I have to rotate it multiple times for it to go into horizontal mode when typing.

2. I have audible notifications set for my Gmail and other email that seem to work only sometimes.

Although these seem minor, they are big for me. Are these issues with Android in general or with HTC Sense?

1: this is most likely a hardware issue. This happens when the accelerometer is not recognizing the fact that the phone is being rotated. (could be a software issue too)

2: not sure about this one as my droid has no problems with this.... double check your settings.

Are you running any custom Roms or other Mods

Never had these issues with mine.
