I recommend GSam Battery Monitor. FoxKat is the person who recommended it to me. It has a lot of information. Including battery temperature and single digit percentage.

It works fine. One of the latest updates fixed that problem. There's more things it'll do if rooted, but rooting is not necessary.

There's a free version so you can give it a try.
