There is no home app, I meant that I accidentally chose 2.0 as my OS vs the 2.1. So there is no application to clear default. I reflashed the tar but still same effect. By reinstalling do i simply remove the sholesmod updater in settings? and then reinstall?
sorry again for noob questions I'm pretty green on this stuff.
On the Manage Applications menu, press the menu softkey, select Filter, and choose Running. The default option (downloaded) shows only apps installed in /data, not those in /system.
I believe that's an intermittent bug with 1.2. If you've got ADB, running "adb shell killall rild" should fix the problem immediately. If you don't have ADB, just reboot the phone.

i also accidentally choose launcher as my default home but as been buggy and FC on me so i want to go to the default home screen with 5 screens, but when i go into settings>applications>manage applications there is no launcher to choose so i can clear defaults what happened to it? also i go to astro and try to uninstall there and it says uninstall not succesful. how do i get the default homescreens back?
Well, install went through without any problems. Took about 30 minutes only because for 15 of those 30 minutes I was waiting on the black screen until I read to hit the home button and run the app again.

This app will download and install all the files you need for root your droid, installing sprecovery, and flash the Sholes.info mod.
Available today in the market for $5. I will be releasing the .apk for free in a day or two, so if you think that $5 is too steep, you will not have to buy it. The $5 is a donation to the entire sholes.info team for their hard work, and will give you an easy way to receive future updates for the application.
So I've run in recovery, installed the update.zip file from the SD card now I'm trying to run the updater and it gives me the black screen. I have hit "Wait" 4 times now. How much longer do I wait? Do I force close and try to run again? Do I need to run it from the VERY beginning (i.e. from the update in recovery mode?)
