now let me just say. I had to do two battery pulls but .....after that the rom is excellent. nav works..browser is great and all my info was retained. The 3d gallery is great also....

now can i over clock this rom too?

Yes sir. I am running the Sholes v1.2 ROM overclocked to 1ghz (it will work at any speed though). The Sholes ROM, combined with overclocking, really makes it feel like a different phone.

Do you know how to use adb? If not, the easiest way, now that you're rooted, is to download DroidRootHelper from the Market and it will do everything for you. I think one of the forum members (maybe Chevy1) also has something that overclocks the phone for you, but I'll have to search a little bit to find it.

Here ya go Miami. Chevy also created an app similar to DroidRootHelper that flashes the overclock kernel for you. Here is the thread:

I agree. Or maybe have something show on the screen instead of just being black. You have no idea if it's working or not. I haven't tried the third time yet. I'm just not sure. Oh well I came from a Palm Pre and this phone stock is still awesome compared to that. Although I will say the e-mail program makes me angry. You can't see any pictures at all. Not good. Sorry a little off topic.

I saw the stock 600 where was the option to bump it up to 800, im in set cpu and it looks like 600 is max

did you select auto detect? Ask on the sholes site, they are very good about posting the correct answers.

i installed it once work instantly. If u read my posts at 2am this mornin i was bugging out cuz of the blank screen but it works good. the developer is online now if u have any ?

If you installed the 1.2 version of the ROM, download the file called boot-rev68_800_1000mhz.img from this thread:

Get it onto your phone and then flash it with these commands:

sysrw
flash_image boot boot-rev68_800_1000mhz.img

Then create the file detailed on the link as well ... S99_set_cpu.sh. I am using a scaling_max_freq of 1000000.

Once you have the S99 file in place, reboot and do:

cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq

You can also use the paid setCPU ... make sure you do not Select Driod ... but go to the bottom of the page and select "Auto Detect" if using setCPU.

SetCPU doesn't do anything but let you manage the cpu speed. You still need the overclocking kernel if you want to go higher than 550 mhz.
