App Icons

Although I've got my phone setup to NOT do this (I think)........

Every once in a while an app will update and all by itself put it's icon on one of my screens, which usually forced other apps or widgets off that screen.

Which is a PIA since I'll be in a hurry to make a phone call to my wife (for example) and find that my contacts favorite widget is missing......or something else.

Anything I can do to correct this????

So, nobody knows why some apps put thier icon out on the screens by themselves and some don't?? And why when they do they sometimes push existing apps or widgets off the screen so they need to be put back??

Can't anything be done to prevent this...it's getting just a LITTLE old, to go looking for an app (or widget) I'd put on a prticualr screen to just find it gone.

I've had apps put an icon on the screen, but only in an open spot. When the page got full, a new page was started. Never had one bump something off/out-of-place.

Go into play store's settings and uncheck Auto-add widgets.

Did that the first time it happened.....and it still happens.

Very odd because with auto-add widgets unchecked, it should not be adding icons to your homescreens. I am lost as to what else could be the problem.

I'm lost too...it doesn't happen all the time, seems like no rhyme or reason why/when it does happen.

Crap...did it again this morning....

Picked up the phone to make a call. My contact favorites widget was gone AGAIN.....just an app icon sitting there for HBO.
