Is there an app that gm/android are using that works for non onstar vehicles? Or maybe something like a diagnostic scanner that reads ecm management or unlocks doors. Or heck anything I can use my phone on car. Haha. Anything?

Torque

But you have to have a bluetooth OBD2 scanner. Also not sure if it works on every 96+ vehicle.

I just saw the tv commercial with the OnStar app and wondered exactly the same thing. LOL.

My husband races sportbikes and likes to hit the twisties up in the mountains, so he and his friend were wondering if there was an app similar to OnStar to have on their phones in case they wrecked up in the mountains and needed an automatic alert sent for EMS.

Makes sense to me.

Actually you're in luck. It was written mostly for the 3800 engine which urs should have. Is it the Supercharged model?

It's called Torque. If you go to the info on it, it should give u a website where the developer tells u which adapters work. Prices range anywhere from $20 to $150 depending on how much u want to spend
