Apk problem and more with BBFroyo

I've been trying to get some answers in the BB section but no one seems to be responding. Other people don't seem to be having a problem with BBFroyo but I've had consistent problems on all the releases of tried.

The first problem is that I can't use apps such as AppInstaller or eoeAppInstaller. They crash upon trying to start them.

Second (and more importantly), the ringer stopped working with Froyo. I keep my phone on vibrate at all times, but it was just silent when someone called.

Does anyone know what to do?

Go into Sound in settings and see if that will fix the ringer...I don't use app installers, so I don't know what to say, except try astro.

1. How did you install the roms? Clockwork or SpRecovery
2. Did you do a wipe prior to installation?
3. Do you have apps on sd?
4. Are the apps in question on SD?

1) Clockwork (through ROM Manager)
2) Yes
3) None on SD as the Apps2SD thing, but I do have the apks on there.

I think that answers #4 too.
