Android is all about choices. And here's another choice for AOSP ROM:
"AOKP" (Android Open KANG Project) is a built from source ROM similar to CyanogenMod (but different).
I didn't create AOKP, I only ported it to the Droid 3.

The future of AOKP is quite bright as new features are popping up all the time.
This port is based off my Droid 3 ICS work for CM9 and it has ALL of the same issues (and possibly some which weren't addressed in the port).
If coming from build 24 then you're probably ok not doing a wipe otherwise.. do it!
