anyone get the update yet june 12 th today????

I just talked to a tier 2 agent at Motorola and she confirmed that the upgrade is being sent out already but in waves and that you will receive a notification on your phone when it comes. She didn't know how often the waves were coming or really anything else but that it had started. We shall see. I'm eager for the upgrade but at this point its I will believe it when i see it kinda attitude.

That is weird I just talked to one and they gave me the winning lottery numbers for tonight. Those agents are on the ball today, lucky day for everyone I guess

In my experience those guys either:

A) Don't know anything...and I mean anything...They are reading from an enhanced version of a users manual to help users (a bit like teaching a monkey to read a screen and follow on screen instructions, the only difference is these monkey's speak too)

B) Do know something, but don't care what you want to know and will tell you what you want to hear to get you to hang up so they can incrase their call volume (and thus stats/income etc at their job)

I want to say they don't know Anything! I asked Verizon in Augusta, GA and they said ICS should be out by the end of the summer.

π Sent from my DROID RAZR using Droid Forums π

On option B in my previous post, I should clarify that when I say they know "something" I wasn't referring to the info you're after, I was referring to their name, their address, the color of the sky...they know "something"...

sorry to burst your bubble but I dont think they told you the truth. the last ics build that came out was last week build 209. as far as I know there has been no soak test done. They would never release a total ios update without soak testing it first.
on a lighter note, build 209 is very stable and no bugs have been found that I read about. If they decided to release this build to the public people would be very happy with it.
if you guys are so desperate for ics just download build 209 install it on an external sd card and install it thru moto recovery. you will never be able to go back to gingerbread but you will be able to go forward to the official ota when it comes out with a little effort and computer know how.

Yea, it's the "never be able to go back to gingerbread" part coupled with the apparent claim that you own a crystal ball "but you will be able to go forward to the official ota when it comes out" that would keep me from ever doing that.

I did however try a previous build of ICS on my Maxx, not sure what number it was, but there were some native moto apps missing that ended up causing me to go back to stock (fast booting back)...And I only did that when there were multiple confirmations from reliable sources in forums with the same phone saying they had no trouble going back.

As someone else mentioned, a lot of peeps got the razr/maxx on the promise of "ICS soon" and it has been around 6-8 months since the initial promise (depending on model / maxx or not) and I'd say 6-8 months, in the realm of smartphone tech should never be labeled "soon".

I have gone from build 85 to build 203 to build 206 to now build 209 so yes you can go forward. and remember when the official ota comes out and you install ics you will never be able to go back to gingerbread again if you end up hating ics. by the way you dont have to just hear it from me. go to droidrzr.com and see for yourself.

That's not a problem; I want ICS, had it on the phone already, used it on other devices etc...I just know from previous updates/phones/experience etc that when people claim X ROM won't take you off the upgrade path there is ZERO way to know that until the next OTA hits and often they are found to be wrong when it does.

VZW is waiting for the 28th of June to release ICS. That way they can get the 500+ MB file counted towards your data tier!!! Then hit you with an overage on data and in essence you just paid for ICS:blink:

MATT seems pretty confident that when the official ota comes out that your going to be able to go forward and get back on track, As I mentioned I have gone forward 3 times already. the process is not easy but its not rocket science either.

me thinks I'm done paying attention to the rumor mills on these things.

Just wish carriers/manufacturers would post DATES rather than timeframes to kill the rumor mills and give us RELIABLE information/dates. And hey, if they miss the date fine, just update it with a new ETA; not a big deal - we all know "stuff happens" with these things and scheduled dates are often missed, but at least keep us in the loop so we're not always looking / wondering about potential rumored dates. Jeez, whats the big freakin' deal it's a software update so WHY ALL THE SECRECY?
