VZW is waiting for the 28th of June to release ICS. That way they can get the 500+ MB file counted towards your data tier!!! Then hit you with an overage on data and in essence you just paid for ICS:blink:

Ya know its funny that you say that. They offered another of my lines an early upgrade again. Had until the 28th to do it. .... that makes sense now

me thinks I'm done paying attention to the rumor mills on these things.

Just wish carriers/manufacturers would post DATES rather than timeframes to kill the rumor mills and give us RELIABLE information/dates. And hey, if they miss the date fine, just update it with a new ETA; not a big deal - we all know "stuff happens" with these things and scheduled dates are often missed, but at least keep us in the loop so we're not always looking / wondering about potential rumored dates. Jeez, whats the big freakin' deal it's a software update so WHY ALL THE SECRECY?

if they give a date and miss it a lot of people wont have the "stuff happens" train of thought but will be as upset or most likely more upset than they are now about rumored dates being wrong. the people who think "stuff happens" are not the ones that are complaining.

Read https://forums.motorola.com/pages/00add97d6c and look at the stage it currently is in. It says "Development". It has yet to move to "Testing Phase". If everyone read the fine print it says that it will be about 1 month after its testing that it will be released OTA.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to that. The schedule is not up-to-date.

IDK where you read that about 1 month, but under the "testing phase" section, it simply states that Motorola will provide the approximate month tha the OTA will be available. In other words, they will tell us when it will be available, which has already been done. Also, that page says updated on 5-18-12, so this could be very well past the "development" phase.

I have no idea where they are at with this and I'm of the mindset that "I'll get it when I get it." Just sayin'.

EDIT: FWIW, it also says the XOOM is in Testing Phase and the OTA is out for it.

Well if you take a look at the threads on the leaks instead of rumor blogs you'd know it's been in development phase for the past month just like the sites says. If the site isn't updated to say testing phase has started, then when you start hearing about people getting their email I invites from Motorola you'll know it's in testing phase.

ics update

called verizon yesterday and inquired about ics update they had no answer for me so they connected me to a motorola rep and i also asked him the same question and his response to me was that they had no release date yet for the update so im guessing its probably going to another cpl of weeks before we see it
