anyone get a virus or identity theft from torrents?

i just started using torrents from a torrent app a guy at work showed me.
ever since i started downloading music from there, my phone locks up and freezes when i play music tracks that i downloaded from the torrent app.. and another friend that works on computers said u can get virus's and identity theft from downloading bad torrents..

do any of yal have any bad experiences from using torrents esp from pirate bay?

In regards to your phone acting up, I would get a virus scanner such as Lookout and run that. I would also delete any music tracks you downloaded through that app as well.
