Anybody use Juice Defender Ultimate?

I am now using the JD Plus and thought about upgrading to Ultimate. Is there a big difference? I thought the Ultimate was for rooted phones but not sure.

I've found that all Juice Defender ends up doing is kill the battery more with the process that always runs in the background. The only way it really saves battery is by turning off the data connection when the screen is off but you can do the same thing by shutting off background data
