Yeah with their locked bootloaders moto can bite the fat one! They lie too about unlocking bootloaders so I got rid of their droid 3 after waiting 8 months for its ics update that never came that they promised before I bought their phone then changed up saying it can't be done but many devs proved it a lie without the unlocked bootloader but no hw codecs so no YouTube or Netflix so screw moto where the sun don't shine!

Lol, well, the RAZR updated, right? Its default version was 2.3 right?

Seriously an update means nothing to me on this phone, I'm already running HTC 4.0 from China that's perfect about to update to htc 4.1 shortly when then wrinkles get ironed out. It's already booting

Wow I just read Verizon just added root checker to all the new moto devices! Now that sucks for moto owners for the future big time!

I really have no intention of rooting anytime soon so the locked bootloader really isnt that big of a deal breaker for me personally

it updated, but not everyone updated by the initial date either.

id on't see what the big hubbub is when these companies miss it. Your phone won't all of a sudden won't stop working once September started. The apocalypse hasn't occured because HTC/VZW hasn't gottin it pushed out, or did i miss something?

As I said I wouldn't care if they never announced it and never updated it. This phone shipped with GB and was updated to Froyo. And now we get ANOTHER update? That's great. I only EXPECT one major update. 2 is a treat.
What I want more then anything is a company that treats is customers like a valuable property. If I owned HTC I would be tweeting updates EVERY 3 DAYS after I missed a promised delivery date. I would reply to EVERY consumer that tweeted to me. I would hire someone to JUST Tweet all day long. THAT is what annoys me. and that our phone was the ONLY one that was given a vague date. Every other phone was "by the end of xxx month". Ours was "anytime in August or July..."

"Well we are still tweaking guys. Sorry for the delay but we want, and you should expect, a flawless update".
"We finished and are waiting on Big Red approval. Hang tight. Should be real soon."

How nice would that be? My customers would be RABID fans... not disgruntled ones...
