Any word on GPS not working for former SW FL Alltel customers?

So it seems that almost every person on an Alltel plan with a Droid is having trouble with the GPS in SW Florida, in the Tampa Bay area. Anyone hear any news on this, and if Verizon is planning on a fix?

I seem to have the longest running thread on this issue. I posted up about the problem on day one when they were released.

So far nothing has been posted that I've seen except hearsay and speculation.
