Yeah there are supposedly apps that have viruses, but everything officially on the Android Market is verified and safe.

I went to Verizon and the guy was looking through my droid and he said why do u have an antivirus? Droid doesn't get viruses... he said those apps are just fluff and ppl only make them to gain off of the ads...

Exactly why I pretty much said that they are useless and apps on the AM are verified safe. But give it time. PSP, MAC, and DS all have viruses now.

yea, and i believe the viruses are for windows based OS. So it would only affect your pc if you connect your phone usb and tranfers files to it and dont have anti Virus....

lookout is awesome with the gps location... but other than that the AV is useless.

Right, which is why its also a good idea to have an anti-virus program scan all devices connected through USB.

mal-ware is the concern with Android. It's not the same as a virus (wiki it )

just pay attention to the permissions an app is requesting... that's the only (real) danger.
