There is no proof that any virus has been in an app. And believe me if there was it would be all over the place.

Over 50,000 infected Droid devices may not qualify as "all over the place," but it is a significant number for something you claim is virtually impossible.

You don't need it. You have nothing to worry about. They are resource hogs anyway.

That is so naieve. My spouse has all my texts, recorded all calls, accessed anything from the web ie history, email, keystroke logger, gps tracking, and even idle record, records even if you aren't using the phone. You could lose everything from this threat

I've liked Bitdefender thus far. It keeps a current list of malicious sites, scans apps when you download them for any known threats, and has Remote Lock, Locate, and Wipe all built in. Only issue I've seen is that you have to reactive the Remote Locate anytime you turn the GPS off.
