Another 2.2.340 issue

I like the latest update and have only one issue so far. My hard buttons don't always light up. They will light fine then stop lighting up as I use the dx. To make them light up again I just hit the power button to put the phone in sleep mode and again to wake it up. Not sure why it does this. Any ideas?

I have had the 2.2.340 for a week now and here are the issues I have noticed so far.



The home screen has gone horizontal only once for me.
Fix: none, as this has only happened once to me.


My hard buttons at the bottom stop lighting up every once in a while.
Pressing the power button up top to put the phone in sleep, then back on solves.


Wifi seems to hang more often.
Turning wifi off then back on solves.


Screen brightness is dimmer sometimes when coming out of wake mode.
Pressing the power button up top again to put phone in sleep then on fixes it.


BT failed to sink in my vehicle even though it said it was, this has only happened once.
Manually dialed phone number and it forced a re-connect to my vehicles BT system.




These are minor issues to me but thought I would post them non the less. Just for reference, I came from 2.1. Overall I am happy with the update.

Since the update, I also once had my screen hang horizontally. This was only remedied by rebooting the phone.

Yes yes yes.
I thought this was because of me using Vignette as the default camera and choosing the option to send the pictures that I take to the stock gallery. I just allowed myself to believe that my gallery was automatically closing itself as soon as I try to open it because of this. How do I get my stock gallery back?

In order to look at my pics I have to open Vignette and access the gallery that way.

I have seen multiple ways of fixing this from formatting your sd card (after saving the contents) to clearing cache and data on the gallery app and media service. Try these and see if one helps. Clearing cache on the media service and I believe one other media app worked for me.

Same here, but mine is rebooting SEVERAL times a day!

Does anyone know if there's a way to go back to 2.1 until they work out the bugs on this? First I thought the rebooting was a problem with my Google Talk, but it's done it while texting, reading email, and browsing my contacts. It freezes, and then three seconds later reboots....ugh....

I just don't understand how for some it works fine and for others not. Are there conflicting apps causing these issues? Maybe not a clean install the first time?

In response to op, to resolve the buttonlight issues requires a simple build.prop tweak.

Change line:
ro.mot.buttonlight.timeout=1
to
ro.mot.buttonlight.timeout=0

This problem is to be expected, its how moto set things up in the first place.
