can one root any tablet and load it with any custom roms, the reason i ask this is because some tablets come with 1.6 up to 2.1 and you cant update some of them. so i was wondering if you can just root it and install an up to date os...?

Depends on, if there are devs working on new ROMs for that specific tablet. Androidtablet.net has a lot of info. I have a Nook Color and have been able to make lots of mods to it based on how large the dev community is. Best $200 tablet in my opinion. I also have the Coby Kyros 7015 ($165) and it is no where near as good as my NC.

Just my 2 cents

cool see thats what im trying to get a pretty cheap one to mess around with before i spend big money on the good stuff i think im going to have to try that out, now does ur nook actually run the android os?

It does run android. I am running a honeycomb rom, overclocked at 1.1 mhz, android market, google voiceall on it. There are several rom's out. There are cyanogen nightly's also.

Go with the nook color, you will not be disappointed at all. I run ultimate droid 3.1.2, but i might give honeycomb a whirl soon

If you use you tube alot, you should know it only works in standard def. I don't have many draw backs to the HC rom. I like it because I can tether it to my rooted droid. The internal rom, has adhoc switched on.
