Android 2.2 - Froyo

Negative. Verizon's lineup of Android phones, from bottom to top, is the HTC Eris, Moto Droid, and then the Incredible.

I would put the inc and droid as equal, they have diff features.. Some like keyboard etc etc..
The Incredible has a better camera, by MP and PQ, as well as a faster processor. And seeing as how the original poster was talking about processor speed from slowest to fastest, the Droid would certainly be behind the Incredible.

You do realize that clockspeed doesn't mean everything, right?

You do realize it's still faster, right? By every single benchmark known to us, the Incredible is faster, and not by a negligible amount.

Nice try sounding smart...

He, you also know that the Inc has to use that processor for graphics, while the droid has a GPU just for that. So, benchmarks aren't everything...

+1
incredible is better
faster = better
yeah we can overclock to 1ghz, but that drains our batter
the snapdragon processor in the incredible is fast and energy efficient

Now all I can flaunt are the physical QWERTY.

LOL! I don't think anyone will ever envy that!
Physical QWERTY + NESOID = dancedroid

Also, high res web browsing + physical QWERTY input = dancedroid

I rarely use the darn thing, but it still beats the pants off of Apple's physical QWERTY. It's not like I have to use it, after all.

Seriously, bagging on the Droid's keyboard is like Apple fanbois saying Flash 10.1 makes pages load slower. If you're comparing it to something better, fine; but don't compare the lack of functionality to not-as-good-as-it-could-be functionality.

Funny related note: I was showing Skyfire to another Apple fanboi friend of mine, and there was a Flash video that wouldn't play. He said, "I guess Droid still doesn't."

I replied, "Yeah, I suppose my Droid, since it only plays some Flash and not all, now only has an infinite percentage higher Flash capability than your iPhone."

He said, "Touche." It was a magical moment, but he's still far too fond of the taste of Steve Jobs' kool-aid.

Oh, and this is all on topic because I said something about Flash.

The Inc's battery isn't the best... A lot of people aren't happy with the Inc's battery. I've steadily got 12+ hours, and sometimes 16+ hours with my Droid overclocked to 1.2. Again, the Inc is newer, but not better at everything.

Oh, and sorry for going off topic with them. I was just replying to email updates I was getting and didn't even read the thread title, just replied to what someone said. :p

I hold you personally responsible for this assorted mess.;) Don't you know the next person will say, "Oh I came here looking for update on 2.2 and I find this mess."

Now if you want to argue about which is better, the Droid or the Incredible which is a silly argument go find another thread to do it in.

We're talking 2.2 Froyo. Let's stay on topic. Thank you.

When comparing stock units the Incredible is overall 30% - 40% faster than the Droid at most tasks. When comparing a rooted Droid @ 800 Mhz it is pretty much dead nuts with the Incredible. An OMAP 34xx or 36xx based unit at 1Ghz or greater outperforms the Snapdragon 1Ghz in every benchmark. Does that mean that the Snapdragon is a bad processor or the OMAP is the OMGWTFBBQ!!!11!! processor? No. It does show that the OMAP series of SoC has a TON of untapped potential. In any case both devices are excellent and you really can't go wrong as to which you choose.

Thats actually not true. The Inc has its own GPU as well. Its not all cpu driven.

It would have been helpful had I read this post PRIOR to responding. :)

We just need a 'Rag' forum.. other then off topic, it has to be purposely created to just rag, ***** and argue... :D
