So,... has anybody heard if Verizon is going to actually allow the wifi-hot-spot feature for us? Using the droid and my laptop at the campground this year... I know I could tether now, but I would much rather do the wifi-hot-spot thing...

aahhhhhhhhH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lololol!!!!

Hmmmmmm I had to check the calendar and see what the date was. I can remember reading most of these posts a few months ago waiting on 2.1.....it will be great....gonna blow everything away......gonna be sooooo fast.....it will be the best ever.......and then.....and then.....and then......WHEN WE GETTIN 2.2? it will be fast....and it will be great....gonna blow everything away......LOL....ain't we just spoiled?

I read somewhere that the phones that have the google experience (full) version of Android will not allow carriers to monitor wifi tethering and those that have other versions cann allow monitoring. Can any confirm this? If this is true, I definitely want my next phone to have the full android os as well.

The camera will still suck (it doesn't really suck, compared to some other phone cameras, just wasn't as good as it could have been) and gmail will still have some issues, but 2.2 will be a much better upgrade than 2.1 was. I'd still rather have Android 2.1 than iPhone 4.0, and we'll likely be on Android 2.3 by the end of the year.

We can't save Gmail attachments...

Sure you can. Just access gmail in your browser, not with an app. Gmail has a special mobile version for your browser which is quite nice. It not only lets you download attachments, but the font size shows larger and the menus are easier to use with more features. And now the browser's "select, copy and paste" features work for your email too. J

Then, just bookmark it (the way you would any webpage) and create a shortcut to that bookmark on your home screen, so you then have a button to access it whenever you wish.

From what ive been told. Foyo's benchmarks on the Droid are astounding. It was compared to having a Snapdragon in the Droid fast. Camers is great and the radio band will be updated again. Though no release date is set

As far as the teathering goes. I will be stunned if VZW allows it with out a secondary charge attached
