For the second time in 4 days I was notified of a system update. Both times I hit "Install Now" and my phone reboots but is still running 2.2.1 stock. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Also since I'm eligible for an upgrade I'm going play with my phone and really unleash its power by rooting. What's the best program to open .sbf files (rooting via RSD Lite)?

Z4root works on 2.2.1 I believe. No sbf needed

Z4root doesn't work on the latest D1 updates. Unless they fixed it but I tried it not too long ago to reroot my phone and I found out it no longer works for the OG. Worth looking into but if that's still the case, I'd use RSD lite. That's what I use. I tried Z4 because I was out of town and unrooted my phone by mistake. SuperOneClick will work also.

Same issue. Told I have an update available, but nothing special happened on reboot, and I'm still at 2.2.1, and it says my system is up to date.

JUST after posting that, I got another update notice, and this time it worked.

Why'd you say ahh no? Haha. But, as long as you guys are on stock ROM, you'll continue to get the updates. They'll stop if you have a custom ROM, and they're all up to date anyway.

Riley, mine did the same but only once. About a week later I was prompted again and this time the update worked. I don't know if it's a bug within the update or what but keep trying.

I turned my wifi only D1 on the first day of the update. It said update available. I updated. 2.2.2 installed. I turned the phone off.

I am not running any custom roms or even rooted on that phone.
