yeah 2.1 doesn't have much to at least not enough where grown men was crying about it begging to know when it will come out. The community just hyped it up way too much, it was bound to be a let down.
But its probably a foundation for more updates, plus i like live wallpaper, can't wait to see some customs ones.
But now i think i can finally root, well i might wait until i'm up to a free upgrade first... damn 20 months to go...
The only time i experience lagg i with the live wallpapers running. With a static wallpaper everything is buttery smooth. Remember, the nexus one runs live wallpapers so well because it has a processor twice as fast as the droids, plus twice as much RAM. Maybe the droid just cant handle the live wallpapers as well..
The Droid has a separate GPU that the Nexus does not have. So while the processor on the Nexus is faster, it doesn't give the Nexus an overwhelming advantage.
Live wallpapers just needed to be tweaked for the Droid. They run perfect for me on UD.
You can solve all those issues by installing HelixLauncher from the android market, i have 7 home screens, a dock with hold 4 apps, a new app drawer but it isn't 3d but thats not really that important to me, it auto rotates so you can have landscape home screen and it is fast switching home screens. I've been running it since i manually updated to 2.1 on friday and i haven't had a single force close yet. And the best part is its free
