Amazon unleashed a new promotion that ties their Amazon Wireless with their Amazon Appstore for Android. If you buy a Verizon branded Android phone right now through Amazon Wireless, they will give you a $25 dollar credit toward the purchase of anything on their Amazon Appstore for Android. The special even includes newer Verizon phones like the HTC Thunderbolt that Amazon has on sale right now. The promotion starts tomorrow and will only be available for a week.
This is brilliant cross-promotion for Amazon's two "retail chains", and is intended to increase drive for people to try out the Amazon Appstore for Android. Amazon's Appstore has already grown from 3,800 apps to 7,500, but of course, they want that to grow even further. Interestingly, a spokesperson from Amazon said that Android phones are the best-selling phones on the Amazon storefront.
