Although the Amazon Fire Phone ended up being our "member chosen" biggest flop of 2014, that doesn't mean it isn't a decent device. The main factors which hampered the product were an exorbitant price tag at launch and gimmicky features. We have to admit, at least Amazon was trying to think outside the box and offer up unique ideas for the Fire Phone, even if they didn't really offer a compelling experience.

Still, at what price-point could we revisit the this phone as a viable option? Amazon is hoping their new sale will do just that. Today you can nab the Amazon Fire Phone for just $189 Unlocked and OFF contract. Purchasing the phone even includes 1 year of Amazon Prime for free (a $99 value). This basically means the phone is only $90 bucks if you were considering getting/renewing an Amazon Prime account anyway! That's actually a pretty sweet deal considering the decent specs of the device.

What do you think? Would this entice you if you were currently in the market for a new or backup phone?

*Additional note... the Fire Phone is not compatible with CDMA networks like Verizon and Sprint.

Great deal on a pretty cool phone. Never been a big fan of Amazon's watered down Android experience, but still a good deal.
Price won't fix the fact that you can't use it on the largest carrier in the US.
