Amazon Instant Video

PC,

Can you a brief review of how well this works? Pluses and minuses?

I am frustrated that Amazon is doing it this way. I have many movies, etc. that I simply cannot access. If they cannot or will not learn how to play nice with others, I will need to find an alternative that will work for all platforms.

Thank you.

Sorry for being slow to respond.

Mega Movie Showdown: A Thorough Comparison Of Movie Selections On Netflix, Amazon, Redbox Instant, And Google Play

My personal opinion is Amazon instant has more selections as far as movies and tv shows where you can buy episodes. Some tv episodes you can buy after they air. With that said because netflix has been doing adding more selections it has help to lesson my dependency on amazon video. Google play is still the new kid on the block as it inks more and more studio bringing in movies. The last few new release movies I have rented via Google play vs amazon though amazon sometimes get first dibs at the title.

Google play movie works better in I can watch it on my phone, computer, tablet, or chromebook, and from my computer I do not have to download or install any special software.
Because I have still have a large selection I bought via amazon I still use it from time to time but have migrated to using google play more and more especially now google have removed it blocks where it didnt work on rooted phones.

Correct but this is about amazon not Netflix.

Yep that was my point. Why do back flips to get Amazon to meet your needs. Netflix has already figured it out. Support the format that supports your device and nearly every device on the planet. I watch Netflix on my Droid phone. ipad, TV, blue ray, lap top. Ditto for my wife and kids on all their devices on one account. There is almost no time, place, or circumstance that it is not possible to get netflix

Understood, just not real impressed with Netflix selection. I dropped them about a 8 months ago. Very happy with Amazon Prime.

Strange - I'm on JB OTA (no root) and able to watch Amazon Prime Instant Video on the stock browser without any problems. When I go to the amazon site, I scroll to the bottom and select "amazon.com full site". From there, navigate to the show ... etc. and it takes a few seconds for the movie to buffer up and then it starts playing. I just tried it again right now to make sure. I think you're still limited to the browser window, but the video plays and the sound comes out.

I did install adobe flash player 11.1 back when I was still on ICS and I see that it's still installed. Good luck!

No idea what sideloading is... but willing to learn. My MAXX currently has 4.04. Is there a suggested walkthru?

Thank you.

Make sure unknown sources is selected in your security options under settings. In developer options make sure USB debugging is enabled as well.

You can download the latest Android 4.0 Flash APK at Adobe's site:

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

Remember where you saved it on your phone. Once you find it with your file browser you can select it like an .exe file in Windows to install it.

You can also Google how to side load flash.
