Am I being "Droid Paranoid"???

OK...I need you all who, I'm sure, are more Droid & tech savvy them I am to help me here. Last month, I backed up my SMS messages with the "SMS Backup +" app. I had to get a new phone because my phone was lagging severly. I don't know if it had a virus or if it was just the phone. Anyway, I have been wanting to restore my SMS messages to my new phone, which for the most part has been acting fine. If I do this restore, my new phone isn't going to like "catch the bug" of the old phone if it was indeed a virus, is it? Am I being stupid? I just don't want to go through what I went though again.

Odds are that you didn't have to get a new phone. Lag is generally a software issue, not a hardware issue.

SMS is just text. Viruses are binaries (not text).
