Alternates to LockPicker to disable mandatory login?

I am trying to help a friend with a Droid 1. She just upgraded to 2.2 and it's caused her phone to now require a password to use it anytime the screen needs to be brought up

This happened to me with my Incredible and I downloaded LockPicker, though it is only available for Sense phones.

Anyone know what the equivalent on a Droid 1 might be?

Go into settings and disable the password to login.
