Yes, I forgot to mention that this occurs in the Droid/Milestone browser. It's absent on Dolphin.I get lag. I am using the RC4 Milestone browser.
You are correct. There is lag in the input boxes but the smoothness of it was the reason I dumped Dolphin. I just wish there was a way to fix the lag in text boxes because I prefer the Milestone browser over Dolphin. The Milestone browser has some lag in input boxes. I have a feeling thats what you are using. The increased scrolling performance and pinch-zoom makes it a worthwhile tradeoff.
I take it that upgrading to 2.1 and using the Milestone browser won't fix the problem. Oh well, hopefully they port it soon.Hopefully the fine folks over at AllDroid can port the 2.1 N1 MT browser.
So this issue is definitely in the Droid/Milestone and xScope Lite browser. Whenever I type <fast> the processor (in the text box?) can't keep up and the keys don't respond as fast like compared to when I'm typing a text message. The Milestone browser's pinch/zoom is too smooth to give up though. :/
This issue is absent on Dolphin and while Dolphin is just as smooth as the Milestone's browser, the pinch/zoom is too buggy and gets annoying.
Ah...decisions, decisions...
So lets say I removed the Milestone browser and just used the native one on my overclocked Droid. Do you think I would still see the issue? So this issue is definitely in the Droid/Milestone and xScope Lite browser. I flashed my phone without the milestone browser and the slow input disappeared, however it was either slow input or a real laggy screan.
I also reinstalled swype. I may try to use it as a touch type instead of swiping because I can't get the hang of it, (thanks CorinaCakes).
This is the way it is with phones and new OS. You get some good things, you lose some good things.
Go to DroidForums on your Droid and try to make a post. Does anyone else notice the delayed responsiveness on the keys when typing. I find it kind of annoying and hope there's a way to fix this. This only happens when trying to type on a site through the browser. This is the only thing I find that isn't smooth/snappy on the device. If someone can find a solution it would be greatly appreciated.
Really? When I tried xScope Lite it was the buggiest browser I've ever used. Is the real xScope that much of an improvement?Go to DroidForums on your Droid and try to make a post. Actually, I think it is much more related to the browser and connection than anything. Some say it has nothing to do with connection, but I see this is wrong. I still only have 1x in my area (VZ took over Alltel) and notice this issue.
Now...that being said....The reason I also say browser? Well the stock and Dolphin browsers carry a lot of baggage with them. When I started using the best browser out there (Xscope) I no longer have the lag issues when typing in forums. Xscope does not get in the way of itself and is just an absolute amazing browser. You can read the large ongoing post on this browser in the apps forum. Again..I no longer have that lag when I use this browser.
Besides, the new features in Xscope are far and above what any other browsers have even attempted to put on theirs. Gary (the developer) is amazing at listening and adding new features.
There is a lot of hype behind Dolphin and the Milestone browser but they just do NOT compare. I really do not understand why more have tried this browser. Check out the Xscope posts in the apps section...simply amazing!!!!
