I have search the forum for help with this topic, but have not found what I am looking for. Please forgive an old guy for asking what may have already been answered.
Two days ago, I finally decided to let Verizon upgrade my phone. They kept sending me reminders. So I used GScript Lite to re-bloat my phone and z4root to remove the root. (Thanks to the creators of those fine programs, by the way. They were wonderful.) The phone is running Android 2.33.
I downloaded the update and ran it. It scared me at first because several features were sluggish or non functioning. After rebooting the phone 3 times, those problems vanished. Yes, my battery life seems to have improved. I even got used to the new look, though I preferred the old. Neither z4root or GScript Lite seem to work on my phone, alas!
But now I am looking for a one-click script to re-root my phone and to de-bloat my phone. It appears that the folks who enjoy doing these projects have all moved on to newer devices, and new one-clicks may never again appear for the Droid 2 Global.
I would love to find out that I am wrong, and will send a bag of Kona coffee to the one who helps me reactivate Wifi Tether, or an equivalent.
Aloha,
Konabob
