I often try out apps and games in the "lite" version before committing to the exorbitant price of .99 cents or whatever. this means that there is a ticker line at the bottom with ads. I recognize that as part of the freebie experience. However, something new that I am running into on the Droid X (my first Droid) is that the ads are Porn ( I think ).

Just between Girlz
etc.

I find this disturbing. If I accidently hit that line (fat finger syndrome whilest trying to click on the game play) does that cause random porn to show up on my phone? It's kind of creepy....

any ideas? suggestions? calming words?

well...a game called "Find Differences" is one, the only one I know quickly

I did sign up for the full meal deal today on that game.... But I don't think this was the only game/app that had the ads at the bottom of the screen. The odd thing is that all of them seem to be either prayer related, or porn related. No vegetables, no amazon no coffee coupons...:icon_evil:

Calming words: who cares if random porn pops up on your phone? Just close the browser window.

I'll just say that if I had a teenager I would not want them viewing the ads let alone the sites they link to. So, porn as in boobs-a-plenty...no...inappropriate? Yes.

@aminaked. Depends on where you are and who is looking at the phone when those ads pop up. Thanks for the calming words, but.....
I'm just kind of weirded out/grossed out that on my phone (and potentially the phone of my kid) there are ads like this.
Who vets the ads? Are they cleared by the carrier, or the creator of the app?

I haven't actually clicked on any of them yet; so I don't know if they are online dating sites or something else - I admit I was basing my question solely on the title - Looking for Sexy Singles? for example. It could be a dating site. I mean, who would go for a dating site called "Looking for Ugly Married People"?

and Between Girlz with a picture of two women kissing could be a dating site for lesbian women, which would be cool.....

I guess I'll just let this go, and after I try a lite version of something I'll either delete it or pay for the full non ad version - which is fine.
