Accessing droids files when connected to usb?

Is there a way to access the files in the onboard memory when plugged into the computer or you can only access the files on the sdcard?

I don't think so. I would imagine that those folks with 'rooted' phones can. I may be wrong though...and would happily bow to anyone who can correct me on this.

I don't think the Droid even stores any pics/music/files on the onboard memory...aside from the applications and OS. Again, I could be wrong.

DF is correct, you cannot access the files to do anything with them without being rooted, for the most part. You can do some limited pushing and pulling of files with adb on the pc, but you are not gonna be able to do much more than fiddle with boot animations, I believe.

I am trying to remember, but I think Astro File Manager may let you see some of your phones files, but it has been so long since I used Astro unrooted, I do not remember exactly. Again, you are not gonna be able to do anything with them if Astro works.

Using astro you could browse the system and I saw ringtones and alarms but not wallpapers but can browse when connected to the computer but don't want to have to "root" just to do that though
