3g slows down while tethered.

Whenever I tether my Maxx to my laptop via USB, my 3g data speed drops significantly until it is unusable. This also happens when I use foxfi. Is this normal?

I use foxfi and it works fine. The internet will just drop off sometimes but other than that out works just fine

I use foxfi on my maxx and the only problem I'm having is my d1 drops its connection often. Otherwise, the 3G is just as fast as my dsl. I haven't used USB in a long time. Have you tried a different computer? Reboot the phone?

Yes, I've tried different computers and I almost always have to reboot my phone because it almost always says "USB tether failed" on the first attempt. I have to reboot the phone to get a successful tether.
