Hope this is an ok forum to post this in, but I have some who "sells Verizon phones" telling me that "an android phone, it is WiFi capable, BUT All your apps and widgets still run off the 3G coverage"

I shut my 3G off on my phone and my apps and widgets work just fine.

I am on Froyo and shut off the 3G by doing this...

Settings -> Wireless & networks -> (at the bottom) Mobile networks
Uncheck "Data Enabled"

Nothing works, web, apps, etc when I turn off 3G.

I turn on WiFi and everything works just fine.

Any advise/input?

I advise you just to put into airplane mode and you'll accomplish the same thing.

Outside of that, you answered your own question. Of course apps work on wifi, I use it to play Home Run Battle 3D all the time.
