last october I went in to a verizon store and played with the droid d2 and droid x I noticed most were slow in loading internet and web pages.

monday 1-10-11 I went to same store to play somemore with droid x HTC and samsung fascinate.

now seeing this last visit is after the LTE has been in place in our area all the phones are faster loading the search page and the web pages too.

so my question to you is even though these phones aren't 4G LTE are they still getting a boost from the verizon network thats been uppgraded to LTE by default?
thanks for any clarity on this.

No, the LTE network has no bearing on 3g devices.

Actually, the upgraded backhaul to handle the new LTE speeds could maybe increase 3g speeds a little bit.

Yes, that would not surprise me. It would have been foolish for Verizon not to beef up the whole infrastructure while installing LTE. The air waves aren't the only possible choke points.

Or the store could have just had a better signal that day.
