2nd RAZR MAXX in two months...

My 1st Maxx quit working for phone calls (it would connect; I could not hear them; they could not hear me) so i.t. gave me another. No big deal except for getting it back like I like it.

I did catch the i.t. guy on his way to Verizon in time to get him to swap my SD card into the new one.

Here's the catch. Now the Maxx announces who is calling, either by name if they are in my contacts or by number if not. I want my 24 (tv show) ring tone back!

Here is what settings shows:

system settings
sound
phone ringtone
24 ringtone

What's up & what should I do to discontinue the announced caller?

I love this phone. Hope this one works longer than the last one did!

Go into phone
Then Menu
Then Settings
Around the middle of your screen you'll see: other call settings,
Scroll down a bit til you see: Caller ID Readout
Access that and then access Ring Only
That should fix it for you.
