2.3 and Rooted?

When the 2.3 update arrives, are those who are rooted such as myself, going to have a problem updating, number one? Secondly, I heard that the update is going to make it tough to be rooted, is that just a rumor or fact?

If you are rooted but all of the bloatware is present and you are not on a custom rom then you should be able to update just fine. You will get unrooted by the update. As for it being more difficult to root, that is entirely possible given Motorola's pension for shutting us out but you will likely just have to root using a new method.

Penchant. Moto does not have a retirement fund for shutting us out. They have a whole company for that :icon_evil:

Gee sorry I mixed up the spelling of two homophonous words on the internet...

Google makes android not Motorola so if it's hard to root it's Google doing it not motorola.

Not entirely true. When motorola gets their hands on the firmaware they also go through and plug holes. The most recent update for the droid one blocked at least one method for root and it came straight from moto.

Atrix and bionic are rooted. Bootloader is locked. Thunderbolt is rooted and the NAND is unlocked. That means root access and ROMs.

This all means that Project Bootloader Freedom needs more support or future Motorola owners are stuck with glorified themes.

This came from my brain by way of my finger and my phone. Don't ask where any of them have been. Especially the brain.
