I love how he said he hopes that it clears up confusion when in fact it created a lot more confusion and a LOT more frustration....
This is what MOTO wanted.. They wanted 2 million + droid users to go nuts on forums, blogs, etc... Which we did lol... Nice publicity stunt Moto

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but....

... how silly would all of this look if we were talking about cars instead of phones?

I just bought a new 2010 Ferarri F430. I bought it because it had all the features that I was looking for at the time. It doesn't do everything perfect, but it does what it was meant to do quite well. I recently heard that the Dodge Ram trucks had 4 wheel drive.... hey, I want 4 wheel drive! Some ingenious guy on the internet has figured out how to fit the Dodge truck driveline into my Ferarri, giving me 4wd, but voiding my warranty in the process, but at least its 4wd. Life is good!

But then I hear that the 2014 F430 is rumored to come with 4wd, so I think that Ferarri should release it today. I even went so far as to remove my Dodge Ram 4wd system and replace it with the stock ferarri drivetrain. Ferarri OWES me this. I even posted on my favorite automotive website that they need to release the new Ferarri right now, because they OWE me these features.... If the Dodge has 4wd then my Ferarri should have it as well, it's only fair!

Yeah, just kinda struck me as amusing. Flame away =)
I love your car... post a pic for me, hot red??

Hardly 2 million users hanging out on forums hounding Motorola for 2.1 - more like 1% of that. The other 99% of Droids users are blissfully using their phones ignorant of the fact they are supposed to be pissed they don't have 2.1 yet. :)

Prediction: they'd start this process on a Monday or at least not on a Friday. Its just not efficient to bump up weekend support coverage and pay extra for a rollout.

Note that I have no connection to this industry, it's quite possible they are horribly inefficient, and I could be talking completely out of my butt.

is it here yet?

While I agree with both sides,( Motorola's fault or chill it will come when it comes) I do have to say that Motorola has been far from clear or helpful on this issue. With as much confusion as there has been is it too much to as that Motorola keep us better informed?now before some here get their panties in a bunch telling me to chill or that I will get it when I get it just remember that this forum is here for people to input their thought and ideas, but also to vent their frustrations. Whether you "want it now!" Or " can patiently wait" we all want the same thing.... the best damend phone on the market ( I traded my iPhone straight across after all! ) for now I will give Motorola the benefit of doubt for now, but they deserve to know that they need to be more forthcomming.

I will say this one more time - It is NOT up to Motorola to decide when the update comes out. All they can do is provide a "final" build to Verizon. It is then up to Verizon to decide when and how to provide the update to us. Until VERIZON announces the update, or starts pushing it OTA, anything you hear about when we will be getting the update is conjecture, speculation and rumor!!!

You keep saying that but the fact is that Motorola released info about the update on their Facebook site, they need to take responsibility for their releases. I do agree that it is not ALL their fault, Google and vzw also share the blame but that does not change the fact that Motorola dropped the ball releasing info that was either premature or flawed. The owe it too their customers to set the record straight.
