2.1 OTA delayed again

OK, someone needs to admit it. The guys building the ROM's are also hackers and keep screwing with Verizon's systems. C'mon, ya know its true. LOL

I'm actually smiling and laughing at everyone who's been doing nothing the past few days other than worrying about the update, or the "rooters" who are bragging that they don't need it, and putting down us "non-rooters."

The thing I'm not understanding is while it may be a bit annoying that the updates didn't start as scheduled, the vast majority of us wouldn't have got them today anyway. More then likely it would be a week before most of us had them.

Hey, I'm not trying to make excuses, I went back to stock for this thing. So I'm disappointed that it's not coming out on schedule. Still no big deal, I can root again if the delay is long.

Not sure I would say Razr is crap...my father washed his through a full cycle and he let it dry out and it still worked fine. However it did not like the second wash it went through... OPS.

Best Motorola Phone I owned (best phone period I owned) was the V60...remember those.

Those waiting on the OTA would be waiting thru the week.

Others would manually update as soon as the zip made it here and to other boards.

It's amazing that Google or moto just doesnt make a page to DL the fracking thing now, considering.

Yes, it's also possible it go on as scheduled, just that they would do 10K at midnight, but I'm not taking bets ...

Well, I wouldn't say the Droid is crap but I'm pissed at the way Moto handles it's business. So I vented. Everyone I know had a Razr and they hated it. Mine broke after 6 months.

I think HTC makes the best products other than the iphone

It's impressive when a communications company can't even get things right like infrastructure and digital communications. Perhaps in the next update they can do something revolutionary like... I don't know... being able to manually disable the lock screen or having an option for a call answer button or a dock that has a phone button and call answer/end call button. All revolutionary stuff.

It's officially bad news for that Motorola Droid Android 2.1 update, folks. BGR snagged a shot that looks like the same internals that we've been seeing. And this one's not welcome.

"The OTA software update for the DROID by Motorola is TBD. A new date will be communicated as soon as possible."

and

"The 3/18 OTA software update will not happen as planned. A new data will be communicated as soon as possible."

Update: And this was just posted to Motorola's Facebook page. No, it doesn't help.

"Thanks for your continued patience. We aim to answer each and every question; if your post isn't answered immediately, please know that we're looking into your question so that we can provide the most up-to-date information as possible."

In other news, Android and Me says the delay has been attributed to the company that actually handles the over-the-air distribution. That sounds right to us, because Verizon has already pushed out the update to some of its employees, and they're reporting no problems with the ROM. Stay tuned.

Would you rather they go ahead, push the update out, have the infrastructure crap out in the middle; and ultimately end up with thousands of bricked devices?
