Radio in OTA 2.1?

I've been hearing that the OTA 2.1 will include radio functionality in it, but you have to accept the OTA update or use the SBF file to obtain it. Is there any chance that the radio will eventually become available to Droid users using a custom 2.1 ROM in the future? I'm running Smoked Glass 6.0.1 right now, and since we don't know when 2.1 will be rooted, I don't want to try and get the radio yet.

I think what you're referring to is an updated cellular radio. Not an FM Radio.

it should be cellular radio update but how can i take advantage of this with a rooted DroiD?

Maybe? Gotta see what we can pull out of the update.zip when someone gets their hands on it.
