13 year old runs up Verizon bill to $22,000

1.4 million Kb...

So at 1,024Kb per Mb, that gives us 1,367Mb.

Further math shows that it comes out to be $16.03 per megabyte? I haven't checked so I wouldn't know for sure, but... that just seems outrageous.

What's worse is that that comes out to be just short of 1.4 gigs, and judging by posts on this board, most people go well over that each month with their data plan.

$22,000... good gosh.

Several people I know kids have gone over the text and MMS plans they have. I've explained that the unlimited data is the only way to go.

I am 15 with the droid and I had a phone since I was 12 and I have been responisble but not I have unlimited txting and data plan. Thank God. =.= Also that story is all of the news its amazing.

Unfortunately, your a rarity in today's society.

The kid HAD to have been tethering, or he had an older smartphone that lacked the need for a true data plan, and was the account was thus charged the per-KB rate.

What was the father thinking giving a 13 year old a phone!!

i dont see this an issue... im 29 and have had a cellphone since i was a freshman(14 years old) in highschool back in the mid 90's. I have 2 cousins 1 is 12 and the other is 9 and they both have cellphones.
